This position is expected to begin in April / May 2021.

About DCSA-Environment

With world class technical expertise, leading edge technology and innovative project delivery capability around the world, AECOM's global environmental practice helps industry and government meet their business goals - to achieve compliance, reduce or eliminate risks and manage impacts. We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform hazardous building materials surveys (asbestos, lead paint, etc.).
  • Prepare the associated survey reports.
  • Perform abatement oversight.
  • All work will be performed under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
  • Assist with other EHS compliance projects (i.e., site assessments, subsurface investigations, etc.) as a secondary responsibility and as needed based on workload.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or relevant environmental discipline.
  • Must have US citizenship and be willing to travel out-of-town for durations ranging from approximately one week to three months, as needed. Travel will vary greatly and depend on the workload/projects at any given time.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to safely drive extended distances.
  • Requires entrance into the AECOM Medical Monitoring Program which includes initial and annual physicals and may include client required drug screens.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Tolerance for working in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a range of weather conditions. Ability to bend, stoop, and lift objects up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to interact with architects and engineers on fast-paced building renovation designs requiring the development of asbestos/building hazardous materials program requirements, drawings, specifications, and design narratives.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.
  • EPA AHERA Asbestos Inspector Certification.
  • EPA Lead Inspector certification.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills; extremely proficient in technical writing; highly effective organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
