In this role you will assist in ensuring the facility's compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and Therma-Tru EHS standards. The successful candidate will be expected to adhere to established operational procedures and standard work to assist facility managers to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.

  • Environmental Monitoring and Reporting: Candidate will monitor and document the air & water emissions as well as site waste streams to an EHS Specialist to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements. This person submits documents for internal review by an EHS Specialist on Title V, Tier II, TRI, RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC and other reporting as needed to maintain compliance. This person will be expected to coordinate with facility management and EHS Specialist to maintain compliance.
  • Environmental Recordkeeping: Candidate will gather required records and provide to EHS Specialist to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate recordkeeping requirements.
  • Training, Education, & Awareness: Candidate will conduct training for associates and contractors related to environmental compliance, emergency response and legal liability issues.
  • Facility Assessments: Candidate will perform routine environmental assessments and audits to meet compliance requirements, identify program-specific deficiencies and risk areas. Successful candidate will be expected to prepare audit reports/corrective action updates for review by an EHS Specialist and collaborate with facility management and 3rd party sources to implement corrective measures.
  • Waste and Recycling: Candidate will coordinate parts of our waste programs to ensure waste materials are appropriately stored, shipped, profiled, manifested and disposed or recycled in compliance with applicable regulatory and corporate requirements with oversight by an EHS Specialist. Candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate records related to waste and recycling including generating the appropriate annual reporting with oversight by an EHS Specialist.
  • Satellite Site Coordination: Candidate will assist in ensuring environmental compliance at satellite sites near the Butler facility. This will include Air Permit compliance, as well as waste management, including other tasks as assigned with oversight by an EHS Specialist.
  • Safety Program Involvement: Candidate must support VBS, driving participation, supplying data, coaching and supervisor support. Candidate will participate in additional projects as time permits.
  • Environmental Program Development: Candidate will work actively toward continuous improvement of the environmental programs including refining or developing standard work for all routine tasks, inspections, reports, as well as refining training programs and procedures to ensure program consistency with oversight by an EHS Specialist.

• Associate degree in Environmental Science or closely-related science or comparable work experience preferred


• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or closely-related science preferred
• One-two years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Strong time management skills
• Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software
