POSITION SUMMARY:
The Site SH&E Intern position is an important SH&E role at the Site and will work closely with our SH&E team to assist with the coordination and execution of safety, health and/or environmental programs to ensure practical, cost-effective measures are in place within the workplace to continuously improve our Safety Culture.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The SH&E intern will be responsible for a variety of projects which may include Personal Protective Equipment assessments, Safety Data Sheet organization, GHS labeling, training organization and improvements, chemical inventories, lab equipment safety, and/or procedure updates
- The position interacts with employees to ensure a culture of caring and where each employee is accountable and responsible for Safety, Health & Environmental conditions and behaviors
- The SH&E Intern will help ensure compliance with regulations and Company policies, routinely interacting with employees on the Site floor on a routine basis
- This list of projects is not inclusive and is subject to change
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:
Education
- Working toward an undergraduate degree in the areas of Environmental, Safety & Occupational Health Management or related field
- Maintaining a GPA of 2.75 and above (preferred)
- Have strong communication, analytical, organizational, interpersonal skills, and are self-starters
- Possesses a continuous improvement mindset and strong problem-solving skills
- Open to working in a factory environment
- Sponsorship for work visas are not offered for this position
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Analytical skillset for data tracking and results analysis
- Collaborative and able to work in a team environment
- Demonstrate exceptional learning capabilities
- Ability to deliver results on challenging assignments
