In this position you will support environmental assessment and permitting on a wide variety of land development and transportation projects throughout Florida and beyond. This position is for someone who enjoys a mixture of field and office work and enjoys a diversity of project types: one day you may be working on dune impacts for an ocean pier, and the next day you may be working on an urban infill project. We are seeking someone motivated and excited to expand their professional expertise and to contribute to WGI's ongoing growth.

  • Field work such as wetland delineations, tree inventories, vegetation and habitat mapping, listed species surveys, gopher tortoise relocation, submerged resource surveys, soil and groundwater sampling, and other miscellaneous environmental services
  • Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, planners, surveyors, and others to avoid or minimize environmental impacts and develop a permitting strategy
  • Write technical reports, interpret data, prepare figures
  • Prepare permit applications
  • Represent clients in meetings with environmental regulatory agencies
  • Assist with business development, preparing scope and fees, and participating in presentations and negotiations for contract pursuits

  • B.S. (M.S. preferred) in environmental science, biology, or related field
  • 2 to 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with wetland delineation
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Florida fauna and flora
  • Knowledge of Florida and Federal permitting rules
  • Ability to perform field work in challenging conditions
  • Wetland delineation experience
  • Professional Wetland Scientist certification preferred
