AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Ecologist to be based in either Minneapolis, MN or Chicago, IL.

This position is expected to begin in May/June 2021.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Performing field tasks such as wetland delineation, and vegetation and wildlife surveys.
  • Collecting and analyzing ecological data, as well as other information to be used in the preparation of scientific reports; and compiling and organizing ecological data collected by others.
  • Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
  • Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories.
  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., environmental science, biological science, agriculture, geology, archaeology or any scientific related field)
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license

Preferred Qualifications
  • Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and analysis experience
  • Knowledge of environmental data collection, identification, investigation, and data entry
  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Exceptionally strong research, writing, verbal, organization skills
  • Strong working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Organizational management skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required Additional Information:
