AECOM is actively seeking an Environmental Inspector to work on an extensive railroad rehabilitation project, in Bridgewater and New Bedford, MA..

Please note that the role is not based in our Boston, MA office. It will be at our project site which spans between Bridgewater and New Bedford.

Responsibilities will include but aren't limited to the following:
  • Performs standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures.
  • Detects problems when using standardized procedures because of the condition of sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc.
  • Conducts specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists.
  • Proposes appropriate analytical methods and techniques. Assists in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge.
  • Draws conclusions and makes recommendations based on analysis.
  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Works under general supervision
  • Experience with Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Geology or similar or Environmental Engineering
  • Working in the field monitoring Inspections of active construction sites
  • Creating daily and weekly reports
  • Working within the guidelines of the Mass Wetlands Protection Act, MEPA regulations and knowledge of OSHA 40 guidelines

Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS in related field (environmental science/technology, engineering, or construction) + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience is preferred Ability to work long hours and flexible schedule desirable
  • Prior experience with the Mass Wetlands Protection Act, MEPA Regulations and the MCP highly desirable.
  • OSHA 40 hour and HAZ-WOPER Certification preferred.
