Responsibilities:
- Performs O&M of landfill gas collection system blowers and flare operations.
- Performs O&M of leachate collection and storage system.
- Collects groundwater samples.
- Conducts surface emissions monitoring.
- Collects field data via checklists and forms in Excel, Word and various other online systems.
- Completes and tracks maintenance work orders.
- Helps to identify field related issues and makes recommendations for correction.
- Supervises contractors on subsurface excavations and equipment & piping installations.
- Interacts with clients to discuss project site related information.
- An education in electronics, electro-mechanical or other skilled trades preferred.
- 1-4+ years of field related work experience within the landfill or environmental consulting industry.
- Technical in mechanical or construction-related fields preferred but not required.
- Landfill-related or environmental remediation experience preferred but not required.
- Must be able to travel with overnight stays.
- Must possess a strong understanding of standard operating procedures related to sampling, health & safety, field note recording, equipment calibration, and O&M activities.
- Must be a team player with very good technical, mechanical, and problem solving skills.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus. OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training will be required if this certification is not yet earned. This certification is required to perform the duties of this position.
- Experience with LPS or a behavior based health & safety program is a plus.
