AECOM is looking for an Environmental Scientist in our Anchorage AK area. Responsibilities of this position will include executing projects involving environmental investigation and remediation services including performing field studies and analyses, regulatory research, drilling and sampling, creating spreadsheets, and compiling and writing reports and other documents. The successful candidate leads tasks and executes projects while meeting cost, schedule, safety, and quality objectives. The candidate will also effectively lead tasks and small project teams by coordinating and communicating with project team members, other project managers, and other AECOM offices and will support the professional development and growth of junior level staff. Compliance projects related to other environmental media may also be supported, as the candidate's qualifications allow.

Additional responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide technical support to existing clients
  • Support marketing efforts for new and existing clients
  • Complete projects on time and accurately
  • Promote and demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Strategic regulatory analyses
  • Interface with government clients and regulators
  • Develop technical presentations
  • Conduct internal technical reviews and detail checks
  • Assist in negotiation of permit conditions with regulatory agencies
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of control technologies in achieving emission reductions and the cost of controls.

Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or related science field.
  • 2 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or related field.
  • 5+ years relevant experience working with government projects
  • 4+ years of environmental investigation and remediation services experience
