The Department of Biology at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track instructor to teach introductory biology lecture and labs and other biology courses to begin in August 16, 2021. The successful candidate will teach 18 credit/contact hours per 9-month academic year and manage the Biol 1310 laboratory course each semester. Teaching assignments may include, but are not limited to, Biol 1000, 1060, 1300, 1310, 1350, 1360, 3020, and 3830. Course descriptions can be found here . Applicants should be prepared to offer a variety of instructional formats such as in-person, hybrid, or online. The normal workload for this position is 95% teaching and 5% service with potential for modification to reflect directorial duties.
This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must hold a Master's degree in Biology or closely related field, or a Master's degree in another field with a minimum of 18 Biology graduate credit hours.
- One year of college-level science teaching experience is also required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing, teaching and managing college-level science labs.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
