About the role:

We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our Sample Preparation team as a Scientist.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the development and/or optimization of tissue and cell biology protocols for solving complex biological problems. You will ensure that our new multi-omics single cell and spatial products are compatible with relevant biological sample types by leveraging your experiences with tissue preparation and fixation methods. As part of this, you will work with a cross-disciplinary team of biologists and chemists, engineers, computational biologists with the help of product managers and project managers. You recognize the challenge of getting high quality biological information from precious tissues is not trivial - it's a key part of resolving biology towards improving human health.

What you will be doing:

Perform and troubleshoot complex experiments towards new product development
Contribute cell/tissue biology expertise and leadership to cross-disciplinary product development teams to ensure project milestones and product performance
Develop quantitative assays for cell quality that could include leveraging your experience in tools such as microscopy, flow cytometry or other methods
You will apply your skills and knowledge to optimize and evaluate methods of sample preparation for multi-omic single cell/spatial applications
Developing and validating optimized sample preparation protocols that yield fundamental improvements in data quality

To be successful, you will need:

A Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or similar fields with a minimum of 3+ years postdoctoral or industry experience, particularly in the area of workflows related to samples for tissue processing, histology and/or pathology
Experience isolating, handling, and manipulating primary tissues and cells from animal models and/or human clinical samples
Experience optimizing fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH)-based assays
Be detail-oriented and have strong record keeping skills with an interest in learning product development
Familiarity with molecular biology techniques (e.g. qPCR)
Ability to perform and work well with others in a rapidly evolving organization, which requires flexibility and a willingness to learn new techniques and concepts
