Lockheed Martin Aeronautics has an immediate opportunity for an Environmental Safety and Health Engineer located in Pinellas Park, FL. Specifically, this position will provide a range of environmental, safety and health services across the site. The ideal candidate will also have a strong background in General Health and Safety, Ergonomics, and Industrial Hygiene as it relates to the standards, testing and coordination of events.
-This Engineer will also implement programs related to indoor air quality, mold and general industrial hygiene.
-Work independently in the field to scientifically analyze and evaluate potential exposures and general safety.
-Develop best practices for performing sampling and analysis of chemical and physical conditions.
-Responsible for writing or working with third parties to develop complex reports and coordinating corrective actions related to safety and health with internal customers, facilities contacts, principal investigators, and administrators.
-Activities will focus on both operational and strategic elements of the site's safety programs and ESH management system.
-This Engineer will be expected to represent the organization across multiple levels of the company, effectively communicate organizational strategy and objectives, and provide both leadership and teaming support to the ESH department members.
- Minimum requirements include, but not limited to, Lifting and Carrying up to 40 lbs. and Pushing/Pulling of up to 75 lbs. and working from elevated platforms such as ladders as they relate to investigations and root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Must be a US Citizen. This position supports a facility that requires special access.
A level 2 employee Typically has 2 - 5 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience implementing, OSHA, safety and health standards, EPA, state and local environmental regulations and programs; to include legislation evaluation and interpretation.
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical with proven problem-solving skills and results.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and be flexible.
• Ability to develop new and innovative methods to increase employee awareness of, and engagement in, ESH compliance programs/initiatives promoting a strong ESH culture.
• Ability to analyze complex technical data from chemical data sheets and environmental health surveys using logic and quantitative reasoning.
• Ability to make oral presentations to persuade others to accept a specific action and or opinion, and provide information to explain procedures and policies.
• Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of the job responsibilities.
• Skill in performing a variety of environmental health duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature.
• Skill in writing concise, logical, grammatically correct analytical reports to explain the results of
environmental health studies.
• Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Skill in working independently and following through on assignments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and be flexible.
• Ability to track, trend and analyze data
Desired Skills:
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Preprofessional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or eligible certification.
• Experience with DOT and IATA hazardous materials/dangerous goods transportation regulations.
• Knowledge of and experience with ESH management system elements, such as ISO 14001.
• Knowledge of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations.
• Knowledge of chemical properties and compatibilities.
• Wastewater discharge operations, maintenance & permitting.
o Process engineering
o Laboratory coordination
• Air Permit Compliance
o Chemical reviews, inventories
• Chemical Inventory
o Tier II reporting
• Experience with ESH management system elements.
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• A demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and interface with all company personnel
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
