Job Description:
The Department of Biology at Southern Utah University invites applications for a faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor. This may be filled as a tenure-track or non tenure-track position. We seek outstanding, highly motivated candidates that demonstrate teaching excellence and are committed to the development of our students. The successful candidate will teach a variety of lecture and lab courses in Cadaveric Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, and Pathophysiology. The start date is anticipated for Spring semester 2022 or Fall semester 2022.
First consideration of applications will begin August 20, 2021
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach lecture and lab courses in Cadaveric Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, and Pathophysiology. Additional teaching assignments may be made based on department need. Professional service on departmental and university committees is also required. Preference will be given to applicants with backgrounds or research interests that complement current strengths in the department and that can develop an active undergraduate research program that results in presentations and publications.

Prior undergraduate teaching experience. Experience teaching and working with human cadavers. Experience using varied teaching and assessment techniques. Demonstrated experience and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate research. Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with colleagues in an undergraduate academic setting.

- Multiple sections of these courses are taught by different faculty members in a collaborative and supportive environment under a faculty course coordinator.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum qualifications:
- A terminal degree (Ph.D., D.Sc., etc.) in Biology or related field is required for the tenure track position. ABD will be considered if degree is conferred by start date. For the Non Tenure-track position a minimum of a Master's degree is required.
