Job Description
The Ecosystem Sciences and Chemical Biology Teams within the Biological Sciences Division at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) are seeking an undergraduate tech intern to support lab upkeep and research activities. Work involves a variety of tasks including laboratory cleanup and organization, cleaning dishes, autoclaving, organizing sample storage, restocking commonly used reagents and supplies, and preparing media and solutions. Ability to follow verbal instructions and detailed written protocols is crucial. Attention to detail during sampling handling and subsequent data entry and an ability to bring tasks to completion are key.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be degree-seeking students enrolled at an accredited college or university. Candidates must be taking at least 6 credit hours and have an overall GPA of 2.5.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates who have been introduced to sterile technique in an entry level microbiology course and/or have taken an entry level chemistry lab and understand molarity calculations and preparation of buffered solutions preferred.
