To help progress our work in New York, we are seeking an experienced professional with a strong interest in shaping our aquatic invasive species work.  The Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator (AISC) is a lead member of the Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program (APIPP) who works in partnership with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to protect the Adirondack region from the negative impacts of invasive species.  The AISC develops, manages, and advances conservation programs, coordinates and implements aquatic invasive species prevention and management efforts with contractors, partners, and volunteers, and provides technical leadership and support. 

The ideal candidate will have a background and track record that includes: 

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in natural resource management with a focus on aquatic invasive species or similar field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Master’s Degree and 5 years of experience preferred.)
• Experience managing natural systems.
• Experience managing staff, contractors or volunteers. 
• Experience using software applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Geographic Information Systems and field data collection techniques. (Experience managing and analyzing large quantities of data preferred.)
• Experience in training and formal presentation design/delivery.                  
• Must have valid driver's license and experience safely operating small watercraft.
