Description: Will lead the development and coordination of a broad and complex fisheries science program with special emphasis on innovative scientific efforts to support a relatively new cross-jurisdictional consensus to advance native fish restoration in the Great Lakes, specifically coregonines (ciscoes and lake whitefishes).  Will also provide leadership and guidance to research conducted within the Branch and Center, that may include developing science frameworks and interdisciplinary research initiatives to address ecosystem questions strongly focused on native species restoration, sustainable fisheries, decision analysis, adaptive management, threats assessment, population viability analysis, modeling, assessment and monitoring program development, and related sciences.
