RECON Environmental is an employee-owned company of specialists representing one of the largest and most established environmental service firms in the Southwest.   Founded in 1972 with the emergence of the National Environmental Policy Act and the California Environmental Quality Act, we have provided more than four decades of continuous service to our valued clients in the federal, public and private sectors.

We are currently looking to add a regular full-time Biologist.  The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 5-10 years environmental industry experience in Southern California.   Requires biological knowledge of Quino Checkerspot butterfly, coastal California gnatcatcher, and Least Bell’s Vireo. State and federal permits or experience towards obtaining a permit is desired.   Should be familiar with laws and regulations appropriate for the designated are of specialization.  Demonstrated project management experience, including experience managing project schedule and budget, coordinating field schedule, client communication, and report documentation is desirable.

The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, good verbal and written communication skills, technical field skills, strong computer skills, and  feel comfortable doing strenuous hiking and working in remote areas.  Valid driver’s license and a good driving record required (you must be cleared to drive company vehicles.)

Additional experience with construction monitoring, data management and report writing is highly desirable.   May be required to provide assistance with report writing and data management.  Must be willing to travel - some jobs will require overnight stays away from San Diego.
