The Salonga Conservation Initiative (SCI) is a US-based non-profit organization with a mission to support holistic conservation projects and biodiversity initiatives related to the Salonga National Park (SNP), Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).  SCI’s field project, the Bonobo and Congo Biodiversity Initiative (BCBI), surveys wildlife including bonobos and forest elephants in order to monitor their status and welfare and to determine risks to their survival.
